This department was established to facilitate the increasingly important task of championing aligned regional priorities to influence education policy at the state and federal level.
The Government Affairs department is the voice of aligned districts and their leadership in the legislative process. We relay insight from the leaders of our districts to policymakers and communicate support or opposition for education related bills in an effort to influence legislation.
Our districts benefit from the connections our Government Affairs team has with decisions-makers and their peers through advocacy for our districts and service center in competition for grant dollars.
RELATIONSHIPS WITH POLICYMAKERS
Our government affairs events, such as Educate & Advocate and Advocacy Day, connect aligned districts directly with policymakers in a bi-partisan platform to provide our districts access to state and federal policymakers to raise awareness of the needs of the schools throughout our region.
